Diocesan Calendar of Intercession
The 2019 Calendar of Intercession of The Episcopal Diocese of New York, also known as the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, invites prayers for the mission of the diocese as realized in many ministry settings and through the diverse vocations of ordained and lay leaders.
The Calendar also encourages a connection with the visitation ministries of the bishops. Each Sunday, if Bishop Dietsche is visiting a congregation, the Calendar bids prayer for that congregation. Similarly, the intercessions on Mondays reflects Bishop Shin’s visitation schedule, and on Tuesdays, Bishop Glasspool’s.
Individuals and those gathering for public worship may pray each day for the congregation, organization, or individual for whom intercession is requested. Congregations may also adapt this Cycle of Prayer for Sunday worship, including the week’s intercessions in the Prayers of the People.
