Episcopal Church Women’s Prayer
Almighty God, we pray that you will bless our work in mission and ministry in the world. Help us to pray fervently, labor diligently and give liberally to make known the power of your love given through your son Jesus. Let us not forget the lessons from the past nor fear the challenges of the future. Anoint us with your grace and shine in our hearts as we reflect your light throughout the world. Amen.
Amen.

FROM: Dianne Roberts, President of the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of New York
TO: All Our ECW Sisters, Family and Friends,
This is a time when we are asked to live our faith and know that God is in charge even though the COVID-19 is all around us and our lives have changed significantly and continue to change. Fear is rampant and uncertainty is our new normal.
As you know, the ECW has its annual events which include: the School of Worship, (March), the Spring UTO Ingathering and Annual Meeting (May), the Stony Point Conference (October), and the Fall UTO Ingathering and Semi-Annual Meeting (November). As much as the ECW would love to continue to meet, we are prohibited from doing so. On March 16, 2020, The Rt. Rev. Andrew ML Dietsche immediately suspended public worship in the Diocese of New York and each day our mayor and governor advise us to stay at home, work from home and practice social distancing. The wearing of masks and gloves is also the new normal.
As a result of these restrictions, the ECW has had to reschedule our Spring UTO Ingathering and Annual Meeting, which was to be held in May 2020 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Staten Island with The Rt. Rev. Mary Glasspool as our Celebrant and speaker.
Our Stony Point Conference remains scheduled for Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17, 2020 subject to current conditions.
Our Christian Social Concerns Committee has extended the date for issuing scholarships to November 2020 for the students at the undergraduate level. Students are advised to submit their applications and the Committee, being aware of the current situation, will review all applications despite prior deadlines. Forms are available on the ECW website.
While we are practicing social distancing and are under lockdown, the ECW Board is contemplating making changes to our School of Worship format. We welcome your recommendations.
On behalf of the ECW Diocesan Board, the Diocese of New York, we pray that you, your family and friends continue to be healthy and safe.
Respectfully submitted,
Dianne Roberts
President of ECW
