Evening worship featuring the music of Hildegard von Bingen. Please join us for this lively service full of percussion, and both modern and ancient instruments for a contemporary interpretation of these medieval compositions by our music director James Hopkins and members of Alkemie. Hildegard von Bingen was a 12th Century nun, mystic, botanist, composer and visual artist. Hildegard’s writings about nature, medicine, and theology continue to fascinate 21st-century readers, and her music continues to captivate 21st-century audiences. The service features modern interpretations of these medieval works with voices, pipe organ, percussion, medieval harp and winds, and synthesizers. It is co-sponsored by the EDNY Young Adult Network.
