A Guide to Discerning God’s Call to Holy Orders. This handbook is intended to provide priests and Parish Discernment Committees with an overview of their important role and ministry in the process of discernment, formation, and ordination as it is carried out in the Episcopal Diocese of New York. This process is our best attempt to respond faithfully to the Holy Spirit’s movement in our parishes. Our hope is that this guide will provide priests and Parish Discernment Committee with the essential information and resources they need to participate fully in the discernment process for those who feel called to seek ordination to the priesthood or diaconate.
