Break the Silence Sunday was established by General Convention Resolution 2022-C064, which calls the entire Episcopal Church to name and address the reality of gender-based violence within our communities and to support survivors through prayer, advocacy, and concrete action. The Diocese of New York Task Force on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault continues to lead this work through the development of this year’s Toolkit, now distributed across the Episcopal Church for local adaptation and use.
The 2025 Toolkit offers liturgical and educational resources, sermon helps, and again features the Eucharist of Healing, Hope, and Liberation, a powerful service that centers survivors’ voices and invites all of us into the work of healing and renewal. We look forward to a Diocese of New York celebration of this Eucharist and invite dioceses and congregations across the Church to join us in this sacred observance.
The Episcopal Diocese of New York Task Force on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault presents these resources to help congregations and other ministry settings observe Break the Silence Sunday throughout The Episcopal Church.
