Social Justice
Social Justice and Public Witness
Rooted in the biblical call to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God, the Episcopal Diocese of New York engages in public witness and action to advance justice and human dignity. We stand in solidarity with communities facing inequality and oppression, offering support, advocacy, and sanctuary. From accompanying immigrants and asylum seekers to advocating for racial, economic, and LGBTQ+ justice, and addressing urgent issues such as domestic violence and climate change, the Diocese seeks to embody Christ’s call to love our neighbors in both word and deed.
Our committees and partners bring the values of the Diocese into the public square through advocacy, education, and organizing.
