EAST Meeting ~ Labor Trafficking and US Law: Made for Each Other
Co-sponsored by the Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce of the Diocese of New York. Bernadette Ellorin, Executive Director of the Mission to End Modern Slavery (MEMS) will discuss how labor traffickers utilize provisions of the US J1 visa law to exploit their victims on the U.S. MEMS is an organization that empowers victims of human trafficking and mobilizes communities to end modern-day forms of slavery and it envisions survivor-led movements working in community towards social and economic justice.
