With Edwina Dean-McCrimmon, the Rev. Gina Gore and the Rev. Jacob Smith
Part of the “Reopening Church Buildings in a New Reality” Series for Clergy and Lay Leaders
Presented by the Congregational Vitality and Formation Office
Many of our congregations reopened their church buildings during the summer and continue offering onside and online services. We have congregations in our diocese who will stop outside services and move inside their church building, others that are just planning to reopen their church building altogether in the coming months. This Zoom conversation will offer you the opportunity to listen to those who went into the process of reopening their church building as you consider a transition in your liturgical space. Join us and be ready to share your experience and to ask questions. What we are going to share will apply to congregations of all sizes and locations.
Edwina Dean-McCrimmon is the senior warden at St. John’s Church, Staten Island.
The Rev. Gina Gore was excited to supply for St. George’s in Newburgh for the season of Lent, imagining lovely spring drives to Orange County. Suddenly she was live streaming from her NYC home for 7 months! Gina is happy to share the challenges & blessings of a small-medium church’s hybrid model reopening since October. Gina’s been good at engaging children in a pandemic but the fall has been tricky!
The Rev. Jacob Smith is the rector of Calvary-St. George’s in Manhattan. Over the last 6 months he has become an expert at Zoom meetings. Jacob will be sharing the general strategies and practices to reopen a parish safely and successfully.
