Anti-Racism Workshop (Online and In-Person – Westchester)

Mon, May 9, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This hybrid workshop (online and in-person) takes place as follows:

  • Monday and Thursday, May 9 and 12 (7:00-9:00 p.m.) – Two virtual 2-hour sessions with individual pre-work
  • Saturday, May 14 (8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) – In person, all-day meeting at Grace Church/La Gracia, White Plains

Participants will be required to complete individual viewing and corresponding assignments before online Zoom meetings. Completion of all assignments and attendance at all meetings is required for diocesan certification.

The purpose of the diocesan Anti-Racism Workshops is to help us become aware of how the sin of racism impacts all of our lives, and how we all unconsciously and consciously participate in racist systems.  It is required for clergy in our diocese and highly recommended for lay leadership.

Dialogue is the foundation of the two-day workshop. We use group exercises and examine scientific and historical evidence concerning the origins of the concept of race and its legacy.  There is no cost to register and attend for members of our diocese.

Of the hundreds of workshop participants, more than 85% have found the workshop to be “very useful” or “extremely useful” in their work and daily lives.

Please note that this event is fully subscribed and that registration is now closed.
